Labor Day weekend camping at Sunfish Pond County Campground in Leroy Township, PA. The campground sits on top of Barclay Mountain and has a 30 acre pond which was really peaceful. The campground wasn’t crowded, the sites around us were empty so pretty quiet.
You can fish in the pond as it is stocked with several types of fish. Boating is allowed by electric motors only and we did see several kayaks as well.
There are showers and restrooms available but we had to bring our own water. We were told there was too much magnesium in the water. Not a problem, we filled before getting to the campground.
There is a small booth which has some camp food. One of the ladies makes funnel cakes which were really good and only $4!!
For some reason, I always find the campgrounds where the road to get to them is crazy steep and this one was just that but once you get to the campground, it’s beautiful!
